This Story Games thread (http://www.story-games.com/forums/discussion/18652/slay-wme-kickstart-hack-and-slash-my-rough-draft#Item_30) is going badly south. I do not understand what is up with it, and frankly, it needs friendly voices expressing enthusiasm and pointing out the virtues of the project. Please help.

It seems pretty obvious to me that there's the one guy who doesn't get it at all, and everyone else who's posted has been pretty on-board and helpful - it may be that you're not getting too much input because (everyone else) gets it and it makes sense, generally!
Thanks! I actually extracted quite a good list of changes from the posts so far. Also, I talked with Luke about the structure of it all and he provided the precise allowed phrasing for the tiers. So the basic idea is a go! Next order of business is figuring out the "play with me" rewards more logically.
If I want the page to show up in searches or potentially be displayed at the front page, then I have to take down the boobies, which is no more than I expected, so I'll use the poster art (http://www.scottpurdy.net/contact/Digital_Ink.html#13) instead. Imagine it with a wicked-cool metal S/lay w/Me logo.
By the way, I finally signed up at Google+ and I'm staring at the personal home page in disgusted shock. First order of business is learning to clear out all the "most popular!" "this is my inspirational post of the day!" garbage out of my settings. But anyway, I guess I'm now eligible to get on Google Hangouts with someone. If you're someone, see if you can invite me to a Hangout and I can finally learn what this fucking thing is.

I figured out a couple of things too. First, I ditched the "play with me" entirely. I realized its very existence was antithetical to the goal, so no wonder the more I tried to make it work logistically, the worse it got as a reward, not better.
Second, here's my beef with the shipping: I don't want funds which are slated to disappear to be part of the funds officially collected. What I mean is, let's say I make exactly $6,000 right at the end of the Kickstart period, no more and no less, and lets say the average pledge was $50, so 120 people total. But if half of all those people had upgraded their pledges by an average of $25 each, then $1500 of that $6000 is not going toward my goal, even though Kickstarter counts it as such.
See what I mean? If I make $6000, then I want to use it as God & me intended. Letting upgraded pledges add to that amount puts me in the position of making my goal on paper ("legally" if you like) but not literally.
I almost changed the whole thing to upgrading the pledge for physical items about ten minutes ago, but then I realized that's the real and totally crucial reason I don't want to do it.

Can you do the shipping as a seperate deal - one of the pledges opens up the option to pay seperately for shipping? Paying outside of the KS (the pledge unlocks the option to do this). Or do the middle men of KS like everthing to be self involved around them? And have had a lawyer write some script in that direction? Caring of them.
I've already set up something exactly as you're describing; it's external to the Kickstart and the KS admin doesn't seem to mind.
That's good to hear! As a paid artist, you should come out with the pay you want for the work.
