Hi,

Newcomer, working on my game -- just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of threads that deal with the division of character abilities between traits and skills. I'm sure it's been discussed ad nauseum already, and I think Ron Edwards mentioned it briefly in one of his GNS articles, but I haven't yet seen the topic discussed at any great length.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome, and here you go! Please note the dates on these for some perspective; the early ones are a bit militant in spots.

Skills/attributes and Skills/attributes 2 from the Sorcerer mailing list (1998 maybe)
Attributes or skills, but not both?
Traits + skills
Twist on the skill + attribute dice pool mechanic

Best,
Ron

Mike's Standard Rant #4: Stat/Skill Systems

This is an interesting take, I think.

Whoops, forgot that one. Sorry Mike.
