Title: Llulu/Print on Demand File Formatting
Post by: Willow on February 21, 2008, 11:56:28 AM
So, when I upload my PDF file, which is the interior of the book, is the first page the inside of the cover, or is it the first physical paper page?

If I want the inside covers to be blank, do I need to start my document off with a blank page?  Or do I just start with the book itself?

To be absolutely sure, you should use the little on-line chat help thing that Lulu offers. However, here's my experience with it.

The default is that the cover is the cover, with blank insides, entirely separate from the interiors, which begin as if you were holding them like a bound sheaf - i.e. the first page is the right-hand (and only) side, or "top" if we're talking physically.

I hope that makes sense ... Anyway, that's how we set up the book I use Lulu for, and it didn't take any special commands or options. It's been the same for any printer I've worked with, traditional or digital. Again, though, I think you should double-check with them specifically to be sure.

Best, Ron
