Title: Advertising
Post by: Seamus on August 20, 2009, 06:28:36 PM
We're putting out our first book in December, a modern RPG with it's own system. Not sure the best place to put ads for this sort of thing. Also not sure how much I should allocate for ads. Our budget is lean, don't want to put out money that will bring in little or no returns. Any advice from people with experience marketing their RPG product.

Banner ads on RPG.net are the best deal for the money.

However, I'd recommend you take your ad budget and put it into your convention budget. Go to more cons. Run more demos. Give away promotional material directly to hardcore players. Hard to beat that kind of marketing value.

Thanks Luke. I was looking into banner ads on EN world, and the prices are very reasonable. I will be sure to check out RPGnet. Yes we want to go to conventions. I haven't been to one in years though, and we need to stay somewhat close to home base. Any good ones in the North East?
