Forum Performance?

Is it just me, or luck, or what--the site has become very, very slow to respond, with many 504 Errors (Service Unavailable). Maybe the forum database needs some pruning or archiving to another, backup database? SMF is never a very "punchy" app (my install on GLASScutters.org creeps at times). But you can at least try the "optimize tables" option in Forum Maintenance, or "check for errors" and "remove unimportant" logs. (I just did all that, and mine is a good bit punchier, now!)
