I've only been into Mechaton for two years or so now, but it seems like now is a great time to be playing the game.  There are great new blogs like Mechatonic http://mechatonic.wordpress.com/, BattleBrik http://battlebrik.wordpress.com/, Mechaton:Hijacked http://uriel-johan.livejournal.com/, and the Mechaton Flickr Group http://flickr.com/groups/438009@N25/pool/.  And Vincent is starting a new Mechaton campaign http://www.lumpley.com/comment.php?entry=407 and testing some new rules for Mechaton http://www.lumpley.com/comment.php?entry=419.

Is this awesome or what?!?  :-)

There does sem to be a groundswell of enthusiasm for the game.  We're getting over a hundred hits a day at Mechatonic, and there seems to be new stuff going up all the time.  A link from the Penny Arcade forums and RPG.net really boosted the numbers for a while.  I'll be interested to see what happens from here.

Considering the uptick in Mechaton chatter, is there enough traffic to make or appoint a central clearing house for communication about the game?

Yeah, I mentioned it in my blog.  Seems it has been gaining steam for 6-8 months now.  I love looking at all the new mechs being posted, and I can't wait to buy a new Mechaton rule book with the campaign rules in it.  :)

I have started a little project on my blog to list the most used and "official" frames for Mechaton.  I want to give credit to the original designers, but a few are in question.  Vincent, if you could help me out with that it would be greatly appreciated.

My blog is at-

The list is in the 2nd post.  There are ten frames in the list and only the first three are in question as to who created them.  There is one other question however, and that is, what do you call the eighth frame on the list?

Thanks

Area Effect Rules
Talking about the Campaign Rules
Vector Movement Rules (which were posted on this forum by Vincent.)

By the time the new edition comes out, I'll be dying to see it.  :-)
