Color Printing question - for Ryan at GOB

You said that you have printers that don't need varnish after printing. Can you tell me more about them? What sizes do they print? What is the quality? How much did the machine cost?
Also - did you all get the pasting machine? I'd love to hear how that is going. I'm seriously thinking of getting one next year.

Hi Chris,
Our current printer is a Xerox. If you still have my number, give me a shout and I'll give you model numbers, price ranges.
Anyways, the Xerox brand toners bake at a higher temperature than most other brands and bake on with a higher gloss sheen to them. We've found them to be comparable in glossy and texture to offset printing with a aquess (spelled wrong, I am sure) coating. But not nearly as glossy as something with a UV coating. Since many lamination options for PO printed covers ultimately have had issues with peeling anyways, we've found going with the Xerox non laminated to be suitable. Additionally, with any cover with 100% toner coverage and on the glossy cover stocks we use, I've cupped up a printed sheet and poured water into it and let it sit there for 5 minutes and no water had penetrated the surface to reach the paper and there was no visible affect on the toner print either.
Anyways, shoot me over your address and I'll send you a sample of something we printed onto a similar cover stock.
