Title: An Experiment in Sliding Scale Pricing
Post by: Ben Lehman on November 20, 2010, 01:12:14 PM
Hey all.

So I'm trying out a new thing! I've decided that my eBooks are going to be priced not based on what I think they're worth, but on what the customer decides to pay. It's not totally crazy (I've seen this before) and I'm really interested in the results because I want to see if I can make it go as a permanent model.

This isn't super-crazy. It's been done before with video games, though mostly as a special promotion, rather than as a semi-permanent affair. I'm hoping that this will lead new people to check out the games and play them, though if it doesn't it'll be a nice thing for the people that were going to check out and play the games anyway.

Anyway, here's the formal announcement (http://swingpad.com/dustyboots/wordpress/?p=294). Please let me know if you have any thoughts or just help me promote this.
