In contrast to Ron's thoughts (putting it that way as not to debate but simply present my 'ad', so to speak)

I think there's nothing simpler than to have a rule that instantly cuts through murk. Eg, if there's a rule that says I can spend a wandering monster point at any RL point in time, then I simply spend it. Easy to dispell - as long as the next mechanical option is physically present and somehow only available depending on 'fiction', your set.

As I've measured it in play I'd actually call 'work it out for yourselves' murk. Though it does occur to me a group who doesn't even think to work anything out...BRRRR...god, that'd be double murk??
